With Christmas fast approaching many businesses wind down over Xmas and the New Year.  Here are a few reminders:

• Inform and communicate early with your employees if they are required to work or whether they must take leave (you may need to check the employee’s award or enterprise agreement to confirm correct practices)

• Organise staff rosters if you have staff working through and communicate these in writing

• Preparing your business for the holidays, means being aware of employment responsibilities with your employees – if you are unsure of legal obligations with regard to leave entitlements please reach out to Fair Work for clarification

• Maybe staff can work remotely through the holiday season – if this is the case, be sure they are briefed on requirements, deliverables and responsibilities whilst working remotely

• Enjoy that Christmas celebration – ensure staff get home safely!
